Installation to body:
1. Position the arm mount on the inside of the body over the hole for the RF shaft.
2. Slide RF shaft through the body and RF arm then attach to the body with 4 screws, #2 oval head wood 3/8-1/2 inch long.
3. Attach RF Arm Foot to the bed with screw machine screw and guide spacer. Verify foot will slide smoothly under the guide spacer, photo T.
4. Run the rails in fully.
5. Using a tool that fits the flats on the RF Shaft turn the shaft counterclockwise (toward the camera back) then then tighten RF Arm so that it is at its rearmost movement (almost touching the back of the body opening).
6. Set the infinity adjustment screw, photo V and scales to their center positions. Set the rail guide, photo T to its center position.
7. Mount the camera no a tripod and point toward an infinity target at least 5000 feet away (1524 meters).
8. Adjust rail guide photo T to achieve coincidence at infinity.
Changing lens or continuing from installation to the body:
9. Set scales according to the scale chart in the photos link.
10. Adjust Infinity screw, photo V, to obtain coincidence at infinity.
11. Focus the lens on a fine detail target at 15 feet. Check rangefinder coincidence and adjust the 15 foot scale, rear scale photo W, as needed.
12. Recheck infinity and adjust the Infinity Screw, photo V, as needed.
13. When coincidence is unchanged from infinity and 15 feet focus the lens on a fine detail target at 4 feet.
14. Recheck coincidence at infinity and 15 feet. Recheck the 4 foot setting if either of the previous two are changed. _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU. |
