Looking to get a lens for this view camera and need some recommendations. I also would like to know who made it if anyone has any ideas.. The plates do say "Made by Folmer Graflex for Eastman Kodak Co."

Thanks!! Charlie

It looks like a European tailboard camera, maybe a Gandolfi. But many of these cameras wouldn't use the Graphic style film holder. It might be one of the odd Graflex cameras but the brass work and the nested bed doesn't look like Graflex to me.
As for an 8x10 lens, well we could sit and talk for hours on that subject. Probably the best value is the 10" Wide Field Ektar and the 14" Commercial Ektar. If you want something from Pre WWII look for a nice Tessar 10" or longer.

I would search on either APUG.org or PHOTO.net. for other advice.

Hi there,

you should be happy with this view camera - it's in fantastic condition. For some reason, the camera joints and workmanship looks English to me. Is it a whole plate or 8x10"?

The lens depends on your imaging needs, and whether you wish to have sufficient covering power for the camera's format.

Looks like you'll be enjoying this one.

Best of luck.
