Hi guys,

I just bought a Super Speed Graphic body (no lens and back) and the camera is on its way from the US to NL. When I bought it, I was expecting that I can use the lenses and Graflok groundglass from my Crown Graphic so I can get front swing and rotating back. But after some web search, I'm not sure if this is possible. Some says Graflok = Graflok, other says that the shape of the chrome spring is different preventing both groundglasses to be interchanged. So I'm really puzzled and hope you guys can help me out.

So, can I use the Graflok back from my Crown on the Super? If not, are there simple modifications that make this possible?

TIA,

Siu Fai

If the Super has no back then the back of the Crown will not fit.
If the Super is missing the Focus Panel then if you remove the graflok sliders the Crown focus panel might fit. I did a quick check on mine and the Pacemaker panel has a shallower spring latch than the Super. The other distances are the same and you may have some light leakage onto the ground glass when focusing with the Crown panel in the Super.
Graflok sliders are attached with screws, washers and springs!

Thanks Charles,

Indeed I meant the focus panel and not the complete back. I'll give it a try and watch out for the springs under de sliders.

Too bad they changed the panel design. I really wish they didn't since there seems to be a lot Pacemaker Graflok back and focus panel around while I have never seen a Super focus panel being sold seperately

I checked and it works! After removing the sliders the focus panel fits in the Super perfectly.

G'day guys,

Has anybody tried adding some "hook" brackets like those on the "standard" graphic graflok back, to the Super Graphic ?

I think (hope) they can still clear the graflok that way.

If anyone has tried making these brackets any advice would be appreciated. I was going to try using some brass and make the "hook" loops using round nose pliers.

Any thoughts ?

An update, in case anyone is interested.

Talking with a next door neighbour who knows something about metal we are going to try some small gauge stainless steel rather than brass.

I'll try and remember to (visually) document the process & advise the outcome.
