I recently bought a Graflex Optar 380mm for my Speed Graphic. I was wondering where I could find the specs on the lens, regarding minimum focussing distance and the depth of field table. Great web site guys.

According to Graphic Graflex Photography, 10th edition (1954), p. 32, "The longest focal length presently available in the Tele-Optar series is the 38cm (15-inch) Graflex Tele-Optar f/5.6. This has an effective magnification of nearly 3X on the 4x5 camera as compared with the 127mm lens, and 2X on the Super D Graflex 4x5." On p. 45, Table VI gives hyperfocal distances in feet for the 38cm lens as 223 (f/5.6), 156 (f/, 114 (f/11), 78 (f/16), and 57 (f/22).

Thanks Henry, I actually missed that table in my copy of Graphic Graflex Photography, 10th edition (1954). Thanks for pointing this out to me.

You're welcome! This exercise also gave me the opportunity to refresh my memory WRT hyperfocal distances, especially the fact that if one focuses precisely at the hyperfocal distance for a given f-stop, everything from infinity to *one-half* the hyperfocal distance will be in focus.
