|

I am looking for a better groundglass for a 2 x 3 Century Graphic (to save some loupe time).
Beattie says they do not make an Intenscreen for this model - anybody know of another manufacturer of Fresnel and / or split-image screens? I told Beattie I'd buy a larger screen and cut it down at my own risk, but they don't seem to be interested in selling me one.
Thanks,
C. Goff

Hmmm. And it doesn't have a fresnel now?
I ask because I thought they came with fresnels. At any rate, mine has one.
OTOH, my 2x3 Pacemaker Speed didn't have one until I lucked into an aftermarket 2x3 fresnel at a camera show (= flea market).
You may have to search hard. |

Thanks for the reply. The Century came with a plain groundglass, which I proceeded to break by accident last night. Now I'd be happy just to find another plain one...

I'm not happy with him, but Stephen A. Shuart (sorry, don't have his site's URL ready to hand, you'll have to do a search) stocks them. He also offers them from time to time on eBay. |

I have a Beattie screen, which I picked up at a camera sale fpr £20, which fits my Century Grafic perfectly. I phoned Beattie in the UK yesterday and they confirm that the still do a screen to fit the Century. Unfortunately, it costs £180 (about US$270) new! Let me know if you want their E-mail address, &c.

I have purchased Ground Glass for Graflex cameras both 4x5 and 2 1/4x3 1/4 from Midwest Photo Exchange http://www.mpex.com/
If you just need the ground glass.
I also found some Pocket Magnifyers that work as a nice fresnel(try Office Max). They are a little course (less lines per mm) than the original but seem to work.
