|
|
Greetings,
I am in Australia and picked up an incomplete 4x5 Auto Graflex which I would like to restore.
Unfortunately, it is missing the front door which also supports the front standard rails. This means that the focus rod is also missing but the rear focus can sort of work. I just wonder if somebody maybe able to supply some close up pics of the hinges used and the basic dimensions of the front board so I can try and have these parts recreated. My aim isn’t necessarily authenticity, but rather a camera which I can enjoy using.
Alternately, if I can seek out a replacement front panel from a donor camera, this maybe another option, although I’m mindful of expensive shipping to Aus.
Thanks you for any consideration of my query.

I made a short video re the latest chapter in my journey and would value any thoughts in particular about adjusting the shutter curtain so it fully closes when the shutter (mirror) releases.presently it seems to drop further when the mirror is reset
Any possibility re parts would also be greatly appreciated.
Here is the unlisted YT vid

Thanks for any consideration

|
|
Greetings,
I just wonder if someone in Graflex land may have a junked.4x5 Auto Graflex cam front drop down bed they would be prepared to pass on? If so, id be grateful if you could PM me.
My video (above) outlines my broader dilemma, although I have more or less secured the shutter curtain to date.
It is just replacing the front standard drop down bed assembly which I need to accomplish so I can move ahead with this project.
Can someone please help?
Sincere thanks,
Stephen (Melbourne) |
