I had a weird issue happen after attempting my first ever CLA on a Graphex shutter (which I was forced to do after B & T stopped working):
The only shutter speed it fires on is the fastest one, nominally 1/400 (but who knows if mine's truly 1/400s since this lens needs a lot of TLC). On the plus side, B & T are now both working as they should.
Contrary to the 2nd letter in CLA, I didn't add any oil/lubrication & only cleaned the retarding weight & the wheels using rubbing alcohol (naturally, I had to disassemble some screws to get to both, but I'm fairly confident I added everything back correctly). I think the springs are in the right position, but it's hard to say since I've never done this before.
It was working before I opened it up (just very inaccurately &, as I said earlier, not at all for B & T modes), so I'm not sure what I did to change that. Please advise!

N.B. I also noticed upon opening that there appears to be at least 2 parts missing: the sync. escapement wheel (part 6 in fig. 16 in https://repaircameras.org/files/graflex/graflex-1-2-3-shutters-service-manual.pdf) & the high speed spring (cf fig. 20).
I tried cannibalizing the spring from another lens, but it seemed to make no difference (still only firing on high, B, & T). |
