My graflex syncro compur shutter is hung, I'm going to take the front cover off to try and see where it is hung and potentially free it up over the weekend. I haven't broken it yet but I know myself all too well, so I want to start looking for a replacement shutter.

The lenses in the shutter are Zeiss Tessar 100mm f3.5 I think copal 0 and are in great shape. I'd like to find another used lens/shutter combo which I could swap out the lens cells.

a few questions

1. What are the more reliable / desirable shutters in that size?
2. What to look for on ebay to know a shutter is in good condition?
3. In looking it doesn't seem like there are a lot of shutters ******* by themselves, If I look at it as buying another lens, What lenses > 100mm do folks really like?

New shutters are not being made or are very expensive.
Used shutters will need a CLA just like the one you have.
The 100mm f3.5 is in a #0 shutter.
Download the Compur Repair manual I linked to before and look at shutter CN-1210-051 and CN-1110-000 for the disassembly/assembly. The CN-1110-000 is a 00 shutter and is the same internally as the CN-1210-051 except for part size and the front and aperture levers as shown in CN-1210-051. That lens was used on the Graflex XL with the same shutter in a different mount.
A CLA will run about $125 + shipping and you won't find a better replacement for double and maybe triple that and still need the CLA.
