Hello:

I recently got a Graflex RB Series B (2-1/4 x 3-1/4). One of the viewing hood 'stays' had a corroded rivet and sheared off. It's still usable, but I discovered the viewing hood comes out easily...also revealed the serial number (?).

The rivet apparently attached the 'stay' to a metal plate held by two screws to the wooden body.

Any suggestions for creative rivet replacement?

Thank you

Murray

Yes, that's the serial number on the view hood door.

The support bar that attaches the view hood to the door is two pieces held together by blind rivets. Get some brass or copper rod the same diameter as the hole, cut a piece a few thousands longer than the thickness of the two pieces, flare one end with a hammer, insert the piece into the support hole then flare the other end.

An alternative is to fill the hole with JB Weld. Should hold when cured.
