I recently acquired a Graflex KE-4(1) Combat Camera Kit in absolutely pristine physical condition. It's complete with the flash, two lenses and the steel case. This is the first Graflex camera in my small collection. I'm glad I found this on-line resource!

While this camera looks wonderful, the shutter mechanism is jammed, the shutter speed knob will not turn and the winding crank on the bottom will not move.

Where might I find someone who could repair this camera?

I found this very helpful: http://www.novacon.com.br/odditycameras/combgra.htm
Quote:
Wind on is using a clockwork spring motordrive which would advance about 9 frames per winding in a single shot mode.

Looking at pictures on ebay there is a lever on the bottom that folds over.
Humm, Kodak instamatics of the 1960's have a tab you pull out repeatedly until it locks to wind the motor spring, could this be the same type of winding mechanism on the KE4/Graphic 70?
Never handled one, no instruction manual available on line. Site members/collectors that might know have not posted in a while.

More useful info? http://www.bnphoto.org/bnphoto/LostSites_JohnLehman.Org_CG1.htm

Google search for Graflex KE4 turns up more relevant hits than Graphic 70.

Ken Ruth at http://www.baldmtn.com/ Photography On Bald Mountain did service these cameras but he has retired. You could ask him if he knows of anyone else is servicing them.
Source me a factory or military repair manual and I'll consider it.

I have a manual on order. If it shows up, I’ll let you know!
