|
|
Hi,
I have a functional anniversary speed. I want to add front tilt to it ( I need it for landscape photography ). My question is, can I take a front standard from a crown and put it in the anniversary speed? I suppose I could buy a crown but I'm in a limited budget here.
Thanks. |

IIRC the rails have a different section. |

The Pacemaker Graphic front standard has different throat opening/bellows dimensions than the Anniversary. You will have difficulty attaching the Anniversary bellows to the Pacemaker Standard whether it came from a Crown or Speed. _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU. |

donsmerz mentions a mod in view camera, I assume magazine, for the Pacemaker. It may be adaptable to the Anny. I am not a subscriber to VC so I do not know what article he is referring to. _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU. |

Thanks guys... maybe I should keep the Anni as it is, maybe restore it a little bit. It's just a nice camera to look at. |

Do not under rate the Anni. Go out and learn to use it.

I've wanted front tilt on my anniversary ever since I bought it. Yesterday I just found a dirty, stripped down parts Pacemaker at an antique store for a few dollars. Figured I see what I could do with the parts.
Swapping the rails & front standard was pretty damn easy. Bellows weren't a problem, I just kept the Anniversary's lensboard attachment thingy. Works for me as those 4x4 lens boards are super easy to self manufacture for new lenses.

What kind of duct tape are you using? Commercial grade? Industrial grade? Mil-Spec grade? Space flight rated? Please advise.
Would blue duct tape be better than black duct tape?
Interested readers want to know!

So this is a strict need to know classification? _________________ Nothing beats a good piece of glass. |

More of a "you don't want to know," Steve.
I don't use duct tape, its too messy and much too insecure. The black masking tape sold as darkroom tape works well, leaves little, usually no, residue and doesn't come off spontaneously without a lot of abuse. |

For the purpose of mounting old lenses with missing flanges, whatever black stuff I got at Wal-Greens has been working well enough. I just tap the hole a big larger than the thread into the lensboard, line the opening with tape so that threading the lens into it is real tight. It gets the job done. I'm not picky. _________________ K. Praslowicz Photo | Watershed - Photos from the Lake Superior basin |

So if one replaces a front standard with a front standard from an different model camera, then the camera has a non-standard standard, right?
If so, then how could one maintain one's photographic standards?
