I have a 127mm ektar superamtic (x) lense/shutter. According to the Speed manual I must set the synch depending on what type of flash bulb I am using. The manual mentions a screw to turn to the right or left to adjust synchronization. There is a small screw on the face of the lense with two dots that are opposite. DO I turn to screw to match the dot to set the sychn? |

The Supermatic X manual I have doesn't talk about adjusting the flash. This shutter was designed to synch with electronic flash only. On the Flash Supermatic there is a screw that you can move right or left in a slot to adjust the delay for flash bulbs.
To create the Supermatic X they simply removed the gear train of a Flash supermatic and added some contacts to one of the shutter leaves so that it closed the circuit when it was fully open. Compared to most shutters the Supermatic X is empty and barren once behind the face. The screw with the dots at 9:00 and 3:00 are to remove the front face.
So three paragraphs later.,,, the answer is no. If you need to use flash bulbs, you'll have to use a solenoid.
