What do you want to know???

If it's a tele-Raptar, it's the same lens as a tele-Optar.

The Raptar came in an Alphax Synch'd shutter, covered 5x7 with 32.2 degrees of view.

The tele-Optar is a nice lens...

Perry, if you have the lens in hand, ask it. If you're contemplating buying one, ask it after it arrives. If you're afraid of making a bad mistake, don't buy. And never forget that the condition a used lens is in is usually more important than its reputation/quality when it was brand new.

Good luck, have fun,

Tele lenses aare rarely as sharp as a non tele of the same focal length. But since you can't put a 15" lens on a Speed Graphic, it's all there it.

I have a late version (alphax shutter, chrome barrel) and it makes fine 8x10s.

But Dan gave you the golden rule/prime directive of used lenses:The condition of a lens, far outweighs its pedigree. When it doubt test the lens

I've had mint lenses that were useless (maybe that's why they were mint, nobody could use them) and I've had trashed lenses that were amazing.

Well actually i have bought it, its in an alphax but the way, and it seems to be working out ok, its fairly sharp. My issue with it at present is that of camera shake at slow speed. Now I am experimenting as it could be from several places, the Lindhof quickmount, or the bed itself flexing a bit, but I doubt it, or its just the connection - the camera mount itself. I have a pretty serious large Linhoff tripod I dont think this is the problem. Anyway at hi speed (ha ha ha)1/50th it has been pretty good but i am wondering what it will do on a time exposure.
