I've actually seen a series VI to VII step ring, but I never had a use for one.

Three or four of the more common older lenses for "Graphics" accept Series VI accessories, and those of us who switch between them and the 35mm. SLRs of two generations ago, which typically wanted Series VII accessories, find a step-up ring very convenient.

In any event, if one is willing to accept less-than-perfect fit by dropping a 49mm. custom filter into a Series 7 ring, and if one has a Series 6 ring already, then it may be cheering to know that Series 6 to 7 rings are not wholly vanished away.

Or, as I mentioned way back up the line on this forum, you can look for a 44-49 (or -52, -55, etc.) step ring and use your 35mm screw-on filters with your series VI slip rings. But such step rings seem to be a vanishing breed. I don't know that they were ever common. I used to frequent all the camera shows in the Delaware Valley (Philada) area and snapped these up whenever I saw them, which was not often. Now I don't see them at all.

I never fooled around with custom-threaded accessories except in dire emergencies (of the "gotta have a polarizer right now, and I'm in Delavan, Wisconsin!" sort). I never hope to fool around with them.

Inspired by a premonition, I ordered all the Series VII filters I'd ever need from a Tiffen dealer in NYC in 1991 or 1992. So the filter manufacturers may come to their senses, or they may persist in their present folly, for all I care!

Watch the famous auction site. There is someone who regularly lists an incredible range of step rings and lens hoods in just about every size and configuration. I have also seen some of what you need at a well known dealer. KEH, perhaps? I just use a series VI to VII adapter and 49mm threaded filters. I have have to put 'em in the adapter bass-ackwards, though, as the ring is too thick.

there's an outfit in Porterville, CA that will help you out. They're called Harrison and Harrison and they're the best. Highly recommended, but no website.
